Sometimes Warehouse9 is allmost magical. That kind of magical feeling invaded the queerhouse yesterday when Alexis and Miss Fish held a tranny party. Transgenders in all ages and with different skin colours came and made the party blow up. Here are some pictures from a night to remember.

URBAN MELTDOWN

Local artists and activists from Warehouse 9 invite you for a 3 day underground art and culture festival in Råhuset, behind the Central Station during the Outgames Week.

URBAN MELTDOWN will happen parallel with the concluding discussions for the ethnic LGBT human rights conference organized by Sabaah.dk, which will take place in Warehouse 9 newly restored location next to Råhuset. Read more about the conference on Sabaah.dk’s website:

URBAN MELTDOWN is going to be a melting pot of local artists and personalities on the queer scene,  who have always been there for their community to create spaces for transexual persons, artists and those with other alternative lifestyles. In the last two years Warehouse 9 have been struggling to create a platform and a venue for “up and coming” and professional queer artists and performers.
Over the 3 days you will be able to experience everything from Tranny Cafe for transexuals of all genders + friends, Rock & Roll Queer bar for indie rock music loves and Warehouse 9 Queer Art Lounge, which is a mixture of performances, visual art, live concerts all through the night.

WAREHOUSE9 is a small performance space and art gallery in the old slaughter district in Central Copenhagen. It is a space for contemporary art, music, poetry and performance with a direct link to the international queer community. It aims to break established boundaries in the music, theatre, art and nightclub scene and create new links between genres and communities.

WAREHOUSE9 aims to bring art into life and life back into the art.

URBAN MELTDOWN is organized as a collaboration between Warehouse9.dk, Sabaah.dk, Kultur Vesterbro og Copenhagen Outgames.

All profit will support queer art and activism.

Lokale aktivister og kunstnere fraWarehouse9 inviterer til 3 dages queer undergrunds kunst og kultur i Råhuset på Vesterbro i forbindelse med World Outgames.
URBAN MELTDOWN finder sted samtidig med den afsluttende diskussion for den etniske LGBT-menskerettigheds konference arrangeret af queer gruppen sabah.dk, som afholdes i Warehouse9′s nyrenoverede lokaler. Læs mere om konferencen på Sabaah.dk’s hjemmeside:

Urban Meltdown bliver en levende smeltedigel af lokale kunstnere og personligheder, der gennem deres daglige liv i storbyen skaber  åndehuller og kreative miljøer. Warehouse 9 har således gennem de sidste 2 år arbejdet på at opbygge en platform for “up and coming” queer kunstnere og performere. Over 3 dage vil man kunne opleve alt fra Tranny Cafe for transseksuelle af alle køn + venner, Rock & Roll Queer Bar for de der elsker live indie rock musik og Warehouse 9 Queer Art Lounge, som bliver en blanding af kunst, performance og koncerter gennem hele natten.

Warehouse9 er et lille kunstgalleri og performanceteater i Kødbyen i København.
Warehouse9 arbejde på tværs af etablerede grænser og udtryksformer indenfor musik, kunst, teater og natklubscenen.
Vi henvender os til det lokale miljø med en bred vifte af udstillinger, koncerter og events og har en direkte dialog med den internationale scene bla. gennem et internationalt performance art program “Live Art Kontekst” støttet af Statens Kunstråd.

Urban Meltdown er arrangeret i samarbejde med Warehouse9.dk, Sabaah.dk, Kultur Vesterbro og Copenhagen Outgames.

Vi er nu ved at være færdig med 1. fase af istandsættelsen af Bygning, 66 i Den Brune Kødby.
Vi har selv skrabet 3.2 mill. kr sammen til istandsættelsen, for at
udvide vores faciliteter til vækstlaget og undergrunden i København,

Håndværkerne er ved at lægge sidste hånd på arbejdet, et arbejde der
har stået på hele foråret.
Resultatet er vi stolte over og vil gerne vise det frem onsdag den 8.

In a dystopic situation, dysfunctional drag queen Timi Mei Monigatti, grounded in feathers, enters the stage.

She reads from her diary, reflecting transgender subjectivity and sexwork, states of exposedness and sexual desire.

In the last years, political theorists like Negri & Hardt have looked for the revolutionary potentiality in all precarious labour.
But the sexual, the body, the senses and the pleasures produced in sexual labour gets lost in this account.

Relying on Eve Sedgwick, Judith Butler, and Beatriz Preciado, amongst others, Timi Mei Monigatti demonstrates how precariousness is transformed into a new value:
Precarious intellect.

A performance lecture on postporn, vulnerability, and the possibilities of a line of flight.

With film clips by Dumb Type, Dusan Makavejev, Annie Sprinkle and Belladonna.
