SUMMARY:Dud Muurmand: FENRIS - Qlab Residency
DESCRIPTION:Dud Muurmand is artist-in-residence for an artistic development programme at Warehouse9’s Qlab from 6 to 22 July 2026. Here\, she will develop the multidisciplinary performance piece FENRIS\, created in collaboration with musician Marko Hautamäki (FI)\, which will later be presented at the alternative culture festival Uma Obscura in Umeå\, Sweden. \nFENRIS is a multidisciplinary interpretation of the mythological tale of the Fenris wolf\, symbolising the struggle between chaos and order. In the initial brainstorming sessions\, this concept has been paired with the symbol of the contemporary introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in both art and work. The music is being created by Marko in direct collaboration with Dud\, who is designing the choreography and the visual expression of the costumes. \nAs part of the work’s development at Warehouse9’s Qlab\, there will be a public showing/workshop in October. More information on this will follow. \nDud Muurmand is a Copenhagen-based dancer\, choreographer\, performance artist\, instructor\, and costume designer. She has been a part of the Warehouse9 community for many years\, including performing at the Screwed/Xmas Cabaret and Piano Bar. She tours several European and Nordic alternative/dark fusion festivals with workshops and performance projects. Additionally\, she runs her own Patreon online forum and community\, where she teaches\, directs larger performance projects\, and experiments with online/video performance. Dud works with the fusion of dance and storytelling\, frequently drawing inspiration from Nordic history\, mythology\, and folklore. \n  \nWarehouse9 is supported by The Danish Arts Foundation and The City of Copenhagen. \nAccess Information\nWarehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and an accessible toilet that can be accessed via a certified stairlift.\nAll events at Warehouse9 are considered “relaxed”. We operate with a safer space policy and ask that you orientate yourself upon entry to the space.

SUMMARY:Get Weird With Wrestling - Qspace workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Spectacular Body: A Weekly Exploration of Queer Wrestling and Camp Performance \nWelcome to a weekly laboratory in Warehouse9’s Qspace\, where we explore the wrestling ring as a site of radical theatricality. When we step into the arena of hyper-expressive movement\, the body becomes a canvas for our wildest imaginations. Inspired by the rich history of camp performance\, melodrama\, and physical comedy\, this workshop invites you to discover and create spectacular alter-egos—personas that open up new spaces for collective joy\, intimacy\, and community play. \n  \nPRACTICAL INFORMATION \n\n Time: Thursdays\, 18:30–20:30 (please arrive 10 minutes early)\n Meeting point: Warehouse9\, Rosenlunds Allé 5 (Baghuset)\, 2720 Vanløse\n Who can join?: Open to all bodies\, fitness levels\, and identities. No prior wrestling or acting experience is required.\n Language: English (or Danish/English depending on the group).\n What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in\, a water bottle\, and a clean pair of indoor shoes (trainers/sneakers) to protect the floor.\nHow to join: Sign up via the button at the top of the page\n\n  \nThroughout the weekly sessions\, we will: \n  \n\n Master the art of gravity and the spectacular fall: Falling is not just a necessity; it is a grand narrative gesture. We will break down the physical techniques of the “bump\,” learning how to distribute impact safely across the body\, land with confidence\, and transform a sudden drop into a moment of breathtaking theatrical suspense.\n\n  \n\n Embody the mechanics of physical illusion: We will practice safe\, foundational stage combat and wrestling movements. You will learn the geometry of the ring\, how to share weight safely with a partner\, and how to execute stylized\, high-energy movements with total control and bodily awareness.\n\n  \n\n Master the sensory language of “the sell”: How does a body communicate impact through pure theater? We will dissect the timing\, rhythm\, and exaggerated gestures needed to make a fictional collision look hilariously high-stakes\, turning a simple reaction into a grand narrative moment.\n\n  \n\n Draw inspiration from archetypes and storylines: From the tragic\, over-the-top heroes of classic soap operas to the chaotic brilliance of comedic wildcards\, we will learn how to build fictional backstories and larger-than-life personas.\n\n  \n\n Explore materials\, gestures\, and sensations: How can a sequin\, a dramatic pause\, a grand entrance\, or an exaggerated gasp become a sanctuary for expression? Participants are encouraged to build\, discover\, and experiment with physical presence and creative costuming.\n\n  \n\n Take part in vocal and character exercises: We will pause to play with the microphone\, practicing the art of theatrical trash-talking and crowd work rooted entirely in comedy\, imagination\, and playful energy.\n\n  \nThese sessions are an open invitation to see physical performance with new eyes. Come as you are\, and together we can create vibrant\, joyful pauses within our everyday realities. \n  \nABOUT THE FACILITATORS \n  \nKFWS works with sensory\, physical\, and participatory performance unfolding within queer community spaces. Their practice explores how temporary characters and spectacular narratives emerge through encounters between chaos\, imagination\, and the body. Drawing inspiration from theatrical wrestling\, camp aesthetics\, and collaborative play\, they create situations where people and movement collectively reimagine performance anew—allowing relational and fluid identities space to evolve. \nA central point of departure in this work is a care for collective joy and creative freedom—using the ring not as a site of ego\, but as an aesthetic foundation for laughter and community.  \nQuestions? For more info you can write wrestling.scenekunst@gmail.com. \nAccess Information\nWarehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and a gender neutral accessible toilet that can be accessed via a certified stairlift.\nAll events at Warehouse9 are considered “relaxed”.
SUMMARY:Vanløse KulTour 2026
DESCRIPTION:Warehouse9 is a part of KulTour 2026 – the day where Vanøse’s local culture actors open up their studios\, venues\, shops etc.\nIt will be a day with a full programme of open workshops\, performances\, music\, tours\, and talks. \nChoose one or maybe all of the places and take a KulTour around the entire district – for both children and adults. \nWarehouse9 presents: A talk by Niels Bjørn\, Urbanist\, Ph.D. \nNiels Bjørn will lead a talk on how art and culture bind people and urban neighborhoods together by creating experiences\, identity\, and meeting places. \n“A neighborhood like the Skjulhøj district contains a mix of buildings that has made it suitable for cultural environments\, which have found space here for their activities and for creating a vibrancy that the city would otherwise lack. The City of Copenhagen’s work with ‘creative zones’ has been absolutely crucial for this to happen. \nNow\, Copenhagen’s success as a city is so overwhelming that there is a risk of cultural and artistic qualities being pushed out. \nWe have seen this happen in other neighborhoods in Copenhagen\, and with that experience and knowledge\, we know that unless we take active steps to preserve and look after these special environments\, they will disappear. \nWhen culture is pushed out of the city\, we all lose something vital. \nThe question is how we can work with urban development without losing the special qualities of the creative zone\, the Skjulhøj district\, and without the creative entrepreneurs and environments disappearing.” \nNiels Bjørn is an independent urban strategic advisor for municipalities across the country. He works particularly with socially balanced cities and how we can create cities that function well for people and have room for everyone\, regardless of differences in age\, gender\, culture\, and class. Niels Bjørn’s latest book\, Det menneskelige habitat\, gathers research from around the world on how we best secure human cities\, urban spaces\, and neighborhoods. Niels Bjørn\, along with a small editorial group\, is also the force behind the podcast BYLYD\, which since 2014 has produced podcast series on architecture and urban development. \nLanguage: Danish \nThis event is free and open to all. \nKulTour is supported by Vanløse Lokaludvalg. \nAccess Information\nWarehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and a gender neutral\, accessible toilet that can be accessed via a certified stairlift.\nAll events at Warehouse9 are considered “relaxed”. We operate with a safer space policy and ask that you orientate yourself upon entry to the space.

We operate with a safer space policy and ask that you orientate yourself upon entry to the space. \nWarehouse9 is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and The City of Copenhagen.
