Jessica Karuhanga<\/p>\n

jord og d\u00e6k mig engagerer sig med de fysiske og figurative konturer af det institutionelle <\/span>rum. Karuhanga udf\u00f8rer gradvise bev\u00e6gelser, der er intuitive og bevidste svar p\u00e5 <\/span>v\u00e6gge, vinduer og gulv. Dette stykke er et koreografisk brud p\u00e5 institutionelle rum, der <\/span>ellers insisterer p\u00e5 sorte queer-personers forsvinden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bio<\/p>\n

Jessica Karuhanga er en canadisk kunstner af f\u00f8rste generation med britisk-ugandisk baggrund, som <\/span>arbejdet adresserer den kulturelle politik omkring identitet og sorte diasporiske bekymringer gennem linse-<\/span>baserede teknologier, skrivning, tegning og optr\u00e6den. Hun udforsker individuelle og kollektive <\/span>bekymringer for sort subjektivitet og kropslighed gennem hendes praksis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Karuhanga har udstillet sit arbejde p\u00e5 Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery (2023), Mitchell Art <\/span>Galleri (Edmonton, 2022), Robert McLaughlin Gallery (Oshawa, 2021), Varley Art Gallery <\/span>(Markham, 2020), The Bentway (Toronto, 2019) og Nuit Blanche (Toronto, 2018). Hun har <\/span>udf\u00f8rt p\u00e5 Remai Modern (Saskatoon, 2023), Pallas Art Projects (Dublin, IE, 2022), WNDX <\/span>Festival of Moving Image (Winnipeg, 2020), Long Winter (Toronto, 2019), Royal Ontario <\/span>Museum (Toronto, 2018), Cooper Cole (Toronto, 2017), Goldsmiths (London, UK, 2017) og <\/span>DoubleDouble Land (Toronto, 2016). C Magazine, BlackFlash, Susan Hobbs Gallery, Blackwood Gallery og Founderie Darling har udgivet Karuhangas skrifter.
