During this\u00a0workshop<\/strong>\u00a0we will be researching how atmospheres of suspense can be choreographed between people, and how suspense can be worked with as a physical state in the body.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through guided movement practices, participants will cultivate heightened bodily perception, working with time-based approaches such as hyper\u2013slow motion and the deliberate stretching or \u201ceeking out\u201d of actions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Movement work will be introduced like practical tasks. Participants will work individually, in pairs and in small groups; some tasks may involve touch, with all material adaptable to individual needs and boundaries. No previous dance training is necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elements of this workshop draw on Eve\u2019s current performance project The Joystick and The Reins, presented as part of IPAF this year.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

When and where is the workshop held?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop is held at 21 March 2026, 10.30 am – 12:30 pm at Dansehallerne, Franciska Clausens Plads 27, DK-1799 Copenhagen V.<\/p>\n

We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes prior to class<\/strong> in time for check-in with the QR code on your ticket.<\/p>\n

Who can attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This all-levels workshop is open to professional dancers and movers from all artistic backgrounds, as well as dance and theater enthusiasts who are curious to explore contemporary dance and physical theater for the first time.<\/p>\n

Accessibility:<\/strong>
\nDansehallerne has an elevator with step-free access to all floors. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets and wardrobes are available on the ground floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the artist:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eve Stainton is a Manchester-born artist and choreographer based in London. They create multidisciplinary performances using movement, live manual labour, live sound, and suspense building. Rooted in community, their research examines how marginalised people relate to power structures and societal conventions. Working with codes of gender, masculinity, class and threat, the work stages clunky physical negotiations, exposing behind-the-scenes collaboration and how narratives of threat shape trans-masc people and working-class cis men\u2019s lives.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
