SUMMARY:Queer Community Singing Group
DESCRIPTION:Warehouse9 and Josh Herring present Queer Community Singing Group: A singing group for queer people that offers weekly rehearsals and provides a meaningful and creative space\, regardless of your musical experience. The singing group will give queer people a space to express themselves and participate in a creative activity that is open to all voices\, all genders\, and non-genders. \nThe Queer Community Singing Group is a fun and diverse evolution of the traditional choir. We will be singing popular songs and in order to make the sessions more accessible\, we will not be working from music sheets and will not restrict vocals to gender or voice type. \nQueer Community Singing Group is a pilot initiative which began in spring 2023 and will continue into the autumn over the course of five Saturdays in September and October. It is preferable but not a requirement that you can attend all five sessions. \nQueer Community Singing Group is free to participate\, but we ask that you RSVP. There is room for 25 people in each session: 20 spots can be booked online and 5 spots will be accessible at the door on the day at a first come\, first serve principle. \nWe suggest that you bring your own water bottle to keep yourself hydrated during the session. \n  \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nJosh Herring (he/him) is a songwriter and performer\, with a background in composition and community music. He runs several choirs in Copenhagen\, having moved here in 2018. He fell in love with choirs in the UK\, in Birmingham\, where he worked with The Choir With No Name – a choir for people who have experienced homelessness. The passion of its members and the strength of the community that singing together created\, literally helped people to change their lives. \nAfterwards\, he started working with choirs inside prisons to be able to provide an engaging and creative community in a difficult environment. Whatever the setting\, singing together has the ability to change people’s lives and strengthen communities. \n  \nACCESS \nQueer Community Singing Group is accessible to all voice types.\nPlease note that the main language for the session will be English. \nKU.BE Lab is located at the top of KU.BE and can be accessed via elevator. There are wheelchair-accessible toilets on the ground floor. Accessible parking spots are located at the front entrance of the venue. \nPlease note that KU.BE is a public space and it can be quite busy on Saturdays. The rehearsal room\, Lab\, will\, however\, be closed for public interference. \nAs always\, Warehouse9 strives toward securing safer spaces for our community. \n

SUMMARY:CANCELLED // Breakfast Club
DESCRIPTION:At Henrik Rungs Gade 25\, 2200 København N\nAt 09.00-11.00\nCost: free\nRSVP via info@warehouse9.dk \nHere\, we invite queer artists\, cultural practitioners\, and freelancers to come and join us for a simple vegan breakfast and good company. Come by for the conversation\, a chance to meet new people\, and hear what others are working on. \nWe will provide a simple set-up: croissants\, fruit\, coffee and tea. \nWe know that working in the arts and freelancing can be lonely and therefore\, we want to create a recurring shared space to check in and be together. See you at Breakfast Club! \n  \nHow to attend: \nIt is free to attend\, but the space is limited due to the size of the room\, so we ask that you RSVP. Write to us at info@warehouse9.dk to join the meet-up. \nAccess: \nOur HQ is on the ground floor in an old Copenhagen apartment. The entrance to the space is narrow\, with a step leading up to the space. It is therefore not accessible for people in wheelchairs. \nWe recognise that this is not acceptable and apologize. We are working on finding a new home for Warehouse9 in the City where accessibility is prioritised.
