SUMMARY:Daydream Dialogues: Poetic Sanctuaries
DESCRIPTION:Daydream Dialogues: Poetic Sanctuaries – Artist in residence under the Huskunstnerordning \nDaydream Dialogues is a site-responsive art project exploring how we create temporary sanctuaries in the city. During four weekends in October and November 2026\, Peter Vadim and Warehouse9 will host workshops across Copenhagen. Participants will build and map sanctuaries\, creating encounters that challenge the norms of public spaces. \nThe project combines Gaston Bachelard’s theories of poetic space with hands-on creative methods\, turning the city into a space for daydreams\, safety\, and community. We invite you to dream out loud and create spaces that reflect us\, as Bachelard writes: “we are all poets when we dream ourselves into the secrets of space.” \nThe process follows 5 phases inspired by Bachelard: \n\nFriction: Explore the landscape: Find places that feel unfriendly or overlooked.\nResonance: Choose a “blind spot” location that feels safe/inviting. Describe it using the senses (“What does it sound like?”).\nAbjection: Transform the location using onsite materials (branches\, stones\, atmospheres\, the body).\nImagination: Daydream.\nArchive: Document the sanctuaries (photos\, audio\, text\, mapping\, movement).\n\nWho can join? \n18–25-year-olds and their families/friends/close ones. Primarily from rainbow families\, but open to everyone.\n \nWhen? \nSaturday 17 October\, 12pm – 4pm \nSunday 18 October\, 12pm – 4pm \nSaturday 24 October\, 12pm – 4pm \nSunday 25 October\, 12pm – 4pm \nSaturday 7 November\, 12pm – 4pm \nSunday 8 November\, 12pm – 4pm \nSaturday 14 November\, 12pm – 4pm \nSunday 15 November\, 12pm – 4pm \nYou can participate in one\, several\, or all workshops. There is no binding commitment. \nHow much does it cost? \nThe workshops are free. \nHow do I sign up? \nFill out the registration form via the link at the top of the page.  \nAbout the artist  \nPeter Vadim works with sensory and participatory art set in landscapes and urban spaces. His practice explores how temporary structures emerge through encounters between chaos\, imagination\, and the body. Inspired by ecological thinking\, emergent processes\, and poetic methods\, he creates situations where people\, places\, and materials collectively rephrase environments\, allowing relational and fluid identities room to unfold. \nA central starting point in his work is a care for the abject. The overlooked\, forgotten\, and cast out\, as both an ethical and aesthetic foundation. \nAccess Information\nWarehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and a gender neutral accessible toilet that can be accessed via a certified stairlift.\nAll events at Warehouse9 are considered “relaxed”. We operate with a safer space policy and ask that you orientate yourself upon entry to the space. \nDaydream Dialogues: Poetic Sanctuaries is presented in collaboration with Warehouse9 and developed during a residency with Cunts Collective (iCoDaCo). \nWarehouse9 is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and The City of Copenhagen. \nPhoto by Cosmin Cirstea
