SUMMARY:Performance sharings: Jo Dahlbäck & Petros Mandalos
DESCRIPTION:The Pickle Sisters are back! This time in a different setting\, but still investigating memories in the collective brine. As part of their study program at the MA Performing Arts as Critical Practice at Malmö Theatre Academy\, Jo Dahlbäck and Petros Mandalos will be sharing their performances here at Warehouse9 16th May 2026.  \n  \nEntrance: Free\, with sign up  \n16.00 – 17.00: First sharing – with Jo Dahlbäck and Petros Mandalos   \n17.30 – 18.00: Second sharing – with Jo Dahlbäck \n  \nPerformance by Jo Dahlbäck \nThe performance investigates how a formal meeting structure\, following a strict protocol\, can become a space for meeting in another sense\, through memory. The participants gather not only in the present\, but across imagined and parallel timelines\, and in conversation with objects. Through the roles we perform in the meeting\, we perform memories that are simultaneously ours and someone else’s. The work invites anonymous contributions\, as memories are shared and layered\, forming a collective past. The meeting takes us to a “then\,” both future and past\, as it unfolds in a continuous loop\, assisted by two shy trolls whose presence situates us somewhere other than the present. \nJo Dahlbäck is a theatre maker\, scenographer and costume designer based in Stockholm/Berlin\, working in theatre and performing arts. Their practice is rooted in queer methodologies and collective processes\, exploring how performance can challenge power structures and social norms. They are particularly interested in challenging normative understandings of time by proposing ecological and queer temporalities. \nTrolls: Linn Haldrup Lorenzen and Tove Möller \n  \nPerformance by Petros Mandalos  \nPickling is strange when you think about it. You’re keeping something by drowning it. The brine is everything around us: the politics\, the histories we didn’t ask for\, the air we’ve been breathing without noticing. Things change inside the jar. Some memories go sour. Others get stranger\, or softer\, or sharper than they were. Together we’ll sit inside the brine and look at what we’ve soaked up\, what we’d rather spit out\, and what we actually want to keep. Pickling\, here\, is what we do when we can’t throw something away but can’t keep carrying it either. \nPetros Mandalos is a theatre-maker\, writer\, and interdisciplinary artist whose work unfolds through queer perspectives on performance\, memory\, and resistance. Moving between theatre\, visual storytelling\, and installation\, he creates hybrid forms that expose the cracks between the private and the political. \n  \nIn collaboration with Malmö Theatre Academy as part of their study program at the MA Performing Arts as Critical Practice. \nwww.thm.lu.se \nWarehouse9 is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and The City of Copenhagen.   \n  \nAccess Information \nWarehouse9 has a level entrance and a gender-neutral accessible toilet\, reachable via a certified stairlift. \nAll events are run as relaxed spaces\, with a safer space policy in place. We kindly ask visitors to orient themselves to the space and policy upon arrival. \n

SUMMARY:The Non-binary Garden
DESCRIPTION:A community garden project for queers & friends – in Warehouse9’s backyard \n  \nOur world\, bodies\, and societies are divided into boxes and categories. This is also mirrored and reflected in the plants we share the planet with. With the non-binary garden project\, we want to create a garden that is not limited to being one thing—something fixed that is not allowed to change. Our garden can be both culture and nature\, both cultivated and wild\, both useful and beautiful. \nThe non-binary garden is about exploring the plants and their properties where they grow and exist. It is about discovering the usefulness of ornamental plants and the beauty of useful plants. \nThe non-binary garden is also about safety and comfort—security in terms of a bit of food security\, and comfort in terms of connection to the soil and an understanding of one’s place. \nAnd scents and colors! \nIt is about breaking down rigid and binary structures that separate beauty from utility and divide functions into two separate parts. \n  \nSo come join our community garden project in our backyard.  \nLearn about plants\, get your hands in the dirt or just come hang out and chat! \n  \nDETAILS \nWorkshop day 1: 24th April\, 16 – 21\nConcept and development \nWorkshop day 2: 26th April\, 12 – 18\nPlanting day!  \n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS/NATURE GUIDES \nTias is trained as a nature educator at Skovskolen in Nødebo and is deeply engaged with how humans and nature experience a sense of kinship with one another. \nMonica is a multidisciplinary artist with a deep interest in human perception and how we structure our thoughts. \n  \nSupported by Statens Kunstfond\, Københavns Kommune\, and Vanløse Lokaludvalg.

SUMMARY:Andreas Haglund: Residency
DESCRIPTION:Andreas Haglund is artist in residence at Warehouse9 from April 13th – May 3rd\, working on their upcoming group piece REALLY (working title). \nIn this residency Andreas will be exploring social dances that originate in the club and result in identity formation. Through an insistence of both groove and abstraction\, we’re studying the performative nature of relational dynamics. When does conflict arise? How does desire between bodies flow? \nAll the dance material is inspired by the choreographer and the individual dancers embodied archives of club dances. Memories of being wrapped up in a dance floor for hours become the foundation for a choreographic exploration of the social.  Transformation takes place both aesthetically and somatically as we explore the construction of characters through costume\, make up and dance. It’s a light-hearted yet sincere celebration of the culture of queer nightlife\, its performances\, its dances\, its music and most of all\, its people. \nThe residency at Warehouse9 is the first one\, so during their time here it’s all about opening boxes. Trying out a set of ideas for how to emphasise this relationality that they are intrigued by. So we will be dancing\, chatting\, reading and dancing some more. \nThe premiere of this piece is at Dansehallerne in Hallen in May 2027. \n  \nABOUT THE ARTIST  \nAndreas Haglund (b. 1996 in Stockholm\, Sweden\, Pronouns: They/He) works as a freelance dancer\, performer and choreographer in and around Stockholm\, Copenhagen and Malmö.\n\nTheir artistic practice centers explorations of the somatic\, material and aesthetic coherences between queer lived experience and the cultural conception of nature. On stage\, in dance practice and in text. \nHe is an active member of Dance Cooperative; a platform\, dance studio and venue for leftist dance practice and performance organised by 12 professional artists in Copenhagen. Through this framework he has facilitated several performance events\, presenting both his own works and collaborations as well as hosting other artists and their works. \n  \nCREDITS  \nChoreography: Andreas Haglund\nDance\, Performance and co-creators: Pierre Piton\, Bee Brown and Emilie Gregersen\nCostume and Styling: Alectra Rothschild\nSound Design: Vee Espasandín\nDramaturgy: Lydia Östberg Diakité\nLight Design and Space: Sofia Stål and Will Zawistowski \nandreashaglund.net \n  \nWarehouse9 is supported by Statens Kunstfond and Københavns Kommune.

In a cozy community bar\, you’re welcome to have a chat and a shot\, eat a pickle\, share a memory and play minigames. You can come and go as you like\, and return for more. The bar is a space for deep conversations and silliness; the pickles are carriers of memory\, but aren’t they also just curious to look at?\n\nThe pickle bar is an intersection for our artistic research. Petros is interrogating trauma as an atmospheric condition and the role of necropolitics in shaping contemporary identity archives. Jo is working with objects holding memory\, like portals between different times\, and looking at ways to perform queer timelines\, both in relation to past\, future\, and fictional times.  \nIn collaboration with Malmö Theatre Academy as part of their study program at the MA Performing Arts as Critical Practice. \nwww.thm.lu.se \n20.00 – 21.05:\n \nSCREENING 1 (read full descriptions of the films here):\nre(cul)naissance by Léuli Eshrāghi | 3:29 min\n\nOn and On and On by Evelyn Pakinewatik | 10:18 min\n\nAs I Belong to my Life by Sarah Bliss | 4:00 min\n\nThese Kids Don’t Get It\, Ma by June Jung | 6:28 min\n\nHandsome Devil by Daniel Barrow | 4:35 min\n\nOur Joyful Endings / Nos Fins Joyeuses by Lucie Babayan & La Fille Renne | 6:06 min\n\nTTT by kimura byol lemoine | 3:33 min\n\nFebruary Fourteenth by Ezri Appel | 6:27 min\n\nGLINT by Anne Golden | 3:55 min\n\nThe Capacity for Adequate Anger by Vika Kirchenbauer | 18:00 min\n\nTotal running time: 64:00 minutes \n\nABOUT JO DAHLBÄCK & PETROS MANDALOS\nJo Dahlbäck is a theatre maker\, scenographer and costume designer based in Stockholm/Berlin\, working in theatre and performing arts. SUMMARY:In-process performance sharing: H0LE AGAIN by Beck Heiberg\, Anna Näsström and Asta Norborg
DESCRIPTION:H0LE AGAIN is exploring the intersection of the hole and the whole\, examining our inherent obsession with filling holes—physically\, emotionally\, and sexually. By being in a hole and by embodying holes we are asking why there is a need to feel complete? Can the hole and whole co-exist without erasing the other and we question if wholeness first arises when the hole is filled? \nIn this in-process sharing\, Beck and Anna are incorporating their musical journey and landscape together with music producer Asta Norborg as well as focusing on the projections and streaming of the piece. This will be a showing where we invite you to stay for a small talk afterwards where we would value your thoughts on the experience. \nEntrance: Free\, with sign-up \nTime: 05.03.2026\, 17.30 – 18.30  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS  \nBeck Heiberg and Anna Näsström are artists in residence at Warehouse9 from 23.02 – 07.03.2026. They will participate in IPAF 2026 with an artist talk\, reflecting on their artistic process and residency period. More info to come.  \nBeck Heiberg is a choreographer and performer based between Copenhagen and Berlin. He has a BA in Theatre and Performance Studies from University of Copenhagen and is furthermore educated at Juste Debout School in Paris\, France and Hotstepper Studio in Copenhagen\, Denmark. Beck is investigating queer- and transpolitical aesthetics as both an explicit and implicit part of his praxis. He works in a broad field of theatre and performance\, but his own original work derives from building concepts up around movement and is often related to personal experiences. Beck is a member of Dance Cooperative – a platform and workspace for intersectional feminist and artistic choreographic practices in Copenhagen. \nAnna Näsström is a choreographer and danceartist based in Malmö while also working inter/nationally. She has a foundation in dance and performance with an education from the Stockholm University of the Arts and studies in New York. Her artistic practice takes place at the meeting point between dance\, technology and ethnography and moves between different contexts\, movement languages and dance cultures. Her practice is informed by waves of club culture\, transdisciplinarity and worldbuilding amongst other things. \nAsta Norborg is a composer\, multimedia artist and curator based between Malmö and Copenhagen. She holds a bachelor of composition from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg and has also studied at the Danish Institute of Electronic Music in Aarhus. She performs solo and DJs under the moniker FASCIA and regularly composes for stage art. Astas solo work centers on themes of queer transhumanism\, blurring the borders of “organic” and “synthetic”\, and explores possibilities of embodiment in electronic music and digital art. \nAs an independent curator she has run several projects creating space for expanded dialogue on her artistic interests. These include the electronic concert series Kallelse\, which ran from 2022 – 2025 before transforming into the workshop festival Threading premiering in 2026\, as well as Rendered Voice – Day of Experimental Vocal Music. She also holds the position of curator for the queer cultural scene PAGE 28 and is a core producer of the drag and queer performing arts show Club Mermaid. \nWith support from: Skuespillerforbundet\, Wilhelm Hansen Fonden\, Swedish Arts Grants Committee \nAccessibility:\nWarehouse9 has a level entrance and a gender-neutral\, accessible toilet that is reachable via a certified stairlift. All events are run as relaxed spaces\, with a safer space policy in place. We kindly ask visitors to orient themselves to the space and policy upon arrival.

SUMMARY:Center of Unseen Trans Survival (C.U.T.S.)
DESCRIPTION:Center of Unseen Trans Survival (C.U.T.S.) is an itinerant\, para-institutional\, artist-run initiative aimed at sustaining and realizing the visions of trans artists\, as well as supporting projects investigating themes informed or indebted to strategies of trans survival. Founded by artist Ruby Nilsson (SE/DK) in 2024\, the center merges art\, curation\, and infrastructural thinking to find new models of creative production in times of rampaging transmisogyny and trans antagonism. Open to visual artists\, writers\, performers\, filmmakers and more\, C.U.T.S. supports its members through curated showcases\, network gatherings\, and distribution. It also offers anonymity to members by lending itself as an artistic vessel when needed. \nRUBY NILSSON\nCASSIE AUGUSTA JØRGENSEN\nADA ADA ADA\nSTORM MØLLER MADSEN\nFASCIA \nHOST FOR THE EVENING BA BLADH \nEntrance: Free\, with sign-up\nTime: 19:00 – 22:00 \n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS\n \nRuby Nilsson (SE/DK\, b. 1993) is the founder of C.U.T.S. She works as an artist\, writer\, and organizer whose practice interrogates the philosophies\, politics\, mythologies\, and conspiracies that shape our understandings of sex as a physical and psychical phenomenon. Through performance\, installation\, curation\, and writing\, she explores the liminal and often contradictory overlaps between major and minor forces in the creation of sex — including capital\, science\, and state power vis-à-vis individual and local needs\, wants\, and desires. \nWork: Magna Paranoia (2024) \nCassie Augusta Jørgensen (DE b.1991) art practice unfolds at the intersection of visual art\, performance\, film\, and dance where performativity is at the heart of her work. The Berlin-based artist has danced throughout her life. She is a trained dancer from the Alvin Ailey School of Dance and graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2022 with the film work ‘The Danish Girl Dick\,’ based on the 1920s diary of Danish transgender landscape painter Lilli Elbe\, who\, like Jørgensen\, began her transition at the academy.Inspired by everything from the history of classical art forms\, to Christian moral conduct and fetish\, Cassie Augusta Jørgensen uses the absurd and gravity to challenge and deconstruct stereotypical representations of women\, not least addressing the way pop culture has portrayed trans women as mentally disturbed\, crazy\, when really they’re compounded with struggle. \nWork: Natures Freak (2025) \nStorm Møller Madsen (DK\, b.1987) is a performance and trans studies scholar\, as well as a dramaturg. They are currently finishing their dissertation at the University of Copenhagen\, Denmark entitled: ”Turning Toward Each Other: Trans-separatist Sensibilities\, Communal Becoming\, and Survival in Contemporary Trans Performance Art”. Their current work centers performance art and trans separatist practices and practicing within and beyond trans studies and trans artistic work. \nWork: Turning Toward Each Other – a trans separatist practicing (2025) \nAda Ada Ada (DK\, b.1992) is an algorithmic artist\, writer and speaker\, who works with gender\, queerness and bodies as perceived by computers through algorithms\, software\, “artificial intelligence” and more. Ada moves between art forms\, and so far\, her practice has included performative photography\, video\, generative art\, net art\, writing\, interactive installations as well as live “artificial intelligence” performance. Her work often deals directly with societal struggles\, concerns and politics\, for example through data visualization or performative engagements\, and her identity as a trans woman often informs the work she does. \nWork: in transitu \nFASCIA (SE\, b.1996) is a composer and instrument designer whose practice explores sensualities\, symbiosis\, invasions and blurred borders in relation to digital technologies\, approaching them as gateways to unknown becomings. \n\nrip ME (SE\, b. 1996) is the musical project of Em Silén. Carried by the love of combination\, rip ME’s artistic ideals are the result of their larger objective of channeling an endless generosity. Effortlessly and infinitely moving in between styles\, genres and modes of expression\, rip ME resigns any final definition\, resulting in a soundscape that is both unmistakably strange and familiar; all-consuming and intensifying. In the midst of disparate circumstances\, rip ME remains nothing but their own \n  \n\nAt the moment C.U.T.S. collaborates with institutions such as Warehouse9 (DK)\, Bastard Nordic (DK)\, Index (SE)\, and My Wild Flag (SE). \nWith support from Nordic Culture Fund\, Nordic Mobility Fund and Vanløse Lokaludvalg. \n  \n\nAccess Information: \nWarehouse9 has a level entrance and an accessible toilet\, which is reachable via a certified stairlift. \nAll events are run as relaxed spaces\, with a safer space policy in place. We kindly ask visitors to orient themselves to the space and policy upon arrival.

SUMMARY:Open Studio: Martin O'Brien
DESCRIPTION:Open Studio with Martin O’Brien \nYou are invited to enter the lair of the beast. An open studio in hell. Somewhere between a hospital\, a morgue\, and a BDSM dungeon where headless gimps serve drinks whilst being deep throated by ghosts\, serpents emerging from cracks in the floor\, and the dead dance on their own graves. Welcome to the strange world of Martin O’Brien. Martin will be displaying elements of his process\, including fragments of performance\, scores\, videos\, images\, objects\, and detritus.\nMartin O’Brien is currently in residence developing his new performance\, What the Serpent Told Me in the Misty Gloom. The piece will premiere on 15 November at Tate Britain. \nThis is a unique opportunity to meet Martin\, hear more about his artistic practice\, and gain insight into his creative process. \nTime: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PMArtist Talk with Martin O’Brien: 2:00 PM\nEntrance:Free – no need to book\, just drop in! Your welcome to drop in any time during the Open Studio hours.Refreshments: Snacks and drinks will be available. \n\n\n\nMartin O’Brien is an artist and zombie. He works across performance\, writing and video art. His work uses long durational actions\, short speculative texts and critical rants\, and performance processes in order to explore death and dying\, what it means to be born with a life shortening disease\, and the philosophical implications of living longer than expected. He has shown work throughout the UK; Europe; USA; and Canada\, and is well known for his solo performances and collaborations with the legendary LA artist and dominatrix Sheree Rose. His most recent works were at Tate Britain in 2020\, the ICA (London) in 2021\, and as Writer in Residence at Whitechapel Gallery in 2023. He is winner of the Philip Leverhulme Prize for Visual and Performing Arts 2022. Martin has cystic fibrosis and all of his work and writing draws upon this experience. In 2018\, the book ‘Survival of the Sickest: The Art of Martin O’Brien’ was published by Live Art Development Agency. His work has been featured on BBC radio and Sky Arts television\, and as a double page spread in The Guardian. He is currently senior lecturer in Live Art\, and head of department of Performance\, at Queen Mary University of London.\n\n\n\nDuring his residency at Warehouse9\, Martin will be working on a new performance What the Serpent Told Me in the Misty Gloom. The performance will premiere at Tate Britain 15 November 2025. Martin will continue his exploration of death\, dying\, the undead\, and ghostly returns through foggy death-scapes\, where images are half seen or miss seen. Fog filled grave yards or woods are classic horror film settings. The fog has the potential to hide danger\, but also to make the innocent feel dangerous. In the fog\, nothing looks or feels the same. The air feels thick\, almost suffocating\, if you fall asleep in the fog\, would you drown? \nClick here for Tate Britain premiere tickets\n \n\n\n\n\nAccess InformationWarehouse9 is wheelchair accessible via a level entrance. An accessible toilet is available and can be reached using a certified stairlift. \nAll events are held in a relaxed environment and follow a safer space policy. We kindly ask visitors to familiarise themselves with the space and the policy upon arrival.

SUMMARY:Residency: You can make me hole again
DESCRIPTION:Residency\nProject: You can make me hole again\nArtistic Team: Anna Näsström\, Beck Heiberg\, Anders Toft Pedersen \nYou can make me hole again is an investigation of the physicality of holes and of the\nrelationship between holes and the spatial body by using our\nb o d i e s i n h o l e s \, by embodying holes\, and by being a\nhole. We spend our time exploring the meeting of holes\nand the whole\, and look into our inherent obsession with filling\nh o l e s both physically\, emotionally and sexually. We are\nasking why there is a need to feel complete. Does wholeness\nonly come from the hole being full? Can the hole and\nwhole co-exist without erasing one another and can we\nbe in that w/hole? \n  \nAbout The Artists \nBeck Heiberg is a choreographer and performer based between Copenhagen and Berlin. He has a BA in Theatre and Performance Studies from Copenhagen University and is furthermore educated at Juste Debout School in Paris\, France and Hotstepper Studio in Copenhagen\, Denmark. \nBeck is investigating queer- and transpolitical aesthetics as both an explicit and implicit part of his praxis. He works in a broad field of theatre and performance\, but his own original work derives from building concepts up around movement and is often related to personal experiences. \nBeck is a member of Dance Cooperative – a platform and workspace for intersectional feminist and artistic choreographic practices in Copenhagen. \n\nAnna Näsström is a choreographer and danceartist based in Malmö. Her artistic practice unfolds at the intersection of dance\, technology\, and ethnography – navigating different contexts\, movement languages and multimedia or sensory projects. She has a foundation in dance and performance from the University of the Arts in Stockholm and Peridance and BDC in New York. \nHer choreographic work is informed by a range of influences including social dance\, club culture\, street dance\, ballroom\, and contemporary dance. This shapes her creative processes\, which often take on a multidisciplinary character with a norm-critical lens. Anna also holds a BA in Social Anthropology from Stockholm University\, with a keen interest in futures thinking and world-building.
