Through skill building workshops, research activities, 1:1 sessions and group exercises, we will developing mini solo lipsync acts on the theme “YOU VS YOUR CITYYY”, culminating in a bold and brilliant sharing showcase. Participants in the course can expect a playful, challenging and intense experience, and to have the opportunity to explore deeper the possibilities of lipsync as a medium but also as a tool for political and personal expression.

This is an all levels, all bodies, all ages, all abilities workshop! The pieces presented in the sharing will be seated, focused on the face and lipsyncing, and you will be provided with materials to help dress your set up. You must be familiar with Zoom on a basic level and have microphone and video capabilities for whichever device you will join us on. All ages are welcome but parents, please note, that we will not be restricting any participant’s content so you may want to sit in on session to allow for any content supervision or support your child may need.
The workshop could, and often does, explore sensitive subjects like identity, sexuality, the body and more, all in relation to your physical location/city. You will need to prepare two songs for the workshops: one will be assigned to you and one will be chosen by you! You will also receive an information email a week or so before the event start which will give you the assignment of going for a short walk around the city you live in, as well as some lipsync performance inspiration to watch and enjoy.
