Bat Calligraphy: Calligraphy Workshop

We will paint the spectograms of bats with ink. A spectogram is the visualization of bat sounds. The spectograms look like lines but vary in their form. The art of calligraphy says that you can practice all your life doing one line. One line is very rich just like the one sound of a bat. While we paint, we will listen to their screams and see their screams portrayed on a screen.

This space will be a concentrated room where we can go deep into a meditative state of repetition.

Ink and paper will be provided.

Who can participate? This workshop series is open to everyone. We ask that children are accompanied by an adult carer. There is a maximum number of participants per workshop, we therefore ask the you RSVP in good time to secure a space.

Accessibility: Warehouse9 has level free entrance to the space and an accessible toilet that can be accessed via a certified stairlift.
All events at Warehouse9 are considered “relaxed”. We operate with a safer space policy and will not tolerate any form of discrimination.

Bat Walk by Damhussøen

Much activity is happening from dusk to the break of dawn. This is the time when the bats come out and hunt for insects. It seems quiet but in the ultrasonic landscape the screams are loud and happening rapidly. If you are attentive you will see fast shadows appearing here and there. Soon, you will know how and where to spot the creatures of the night.

Linh will guide you through a performative walk where she will hand out scores of attentiveness. Together with others, you let yourself immerse in the land of the bats.

Who can participate? This workshop series is open to everyone. We ask that children are accompanied by an adult carer. There is a maximum number of participants per workshop, we therefore ask the you RSVP in good time to secure a space.

Meeting place: We will meet on the corner of Damhussøen / Roskildevej by The Old Irish Pub at 19.00. Look for a bat flag.

Please note: This event is weather dependent. If it is very windy or rainy there will be no bats and therefore the walk will be canceled.

Accessibility: Public toilets are located on the lake route. The walking route surface is mostly even consisting of asphalt and shorter sections are packed with gravel.

Can I participate in more than one workshop? Yes! Feel free to participate in 1, 3, or 5!

Salon Evening With Alex Franz Zehetbauer (IPAFxQueerlands)

IPAF & Queerlands Presents:
Salon Evening With Alex Franz Zehetbauer

IPAF artist in residence, Alex Franz Zehetbauer, will host an evening salon to share the fruits of his week-long residency at wearhouse9. During his residency he continues his research on singing hosts by exploring the figure of the court jester. This research emerges as a playful tangent from his work “An Evening with”.

Alex Franz Zehetbauer (*1990 in Brooklyn) creates performances, sonic choreographies, and songs. In his newest work, An Evening with, he hosts the audience with a trickster humor while mesmerizing them with his thunderous and tender vocals. His ear-worm melodies live somewhere between avant-pop and medieval-plainsong and his lyrics oscillate between the earnest and the absurd. Critics have called him: an angel, a swamp monster, and a red-eyed demon. He studied vocal performance, choreography, acting and composition at the Experimental Theater Wing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdam. Alex has collaborated with artists such as Phillip Gehmacher, Jen Rosenblit, Taylor Mac, Marta Navaridas and Alix Eynaudi.
